Just went live with a solar powered repeater in Lenzburg

Hi community, not sure if this is allowed or not, hope it is, I just wanted to share that I have just setup and made available Lenzburg-Tango-01 as a solar powered repeater in Lenzburg. I didnt find any other repeaters in the city so far, so I guess this is the first one.
All this is new to me, so now I have to figure out how to connect with people and see how my repeater might or not connect with other repeaters to reach further on the network.

I also setup the client side inside my house with a Heltec v4, so ready to play around. If anyone has any tips or wants to exchange messages to test. Feel free to ping me

Thank you!

Hi fertech,

Welcome to the MeshCore Switzerland community! Great to have you on board.

It looks like your repeater isn’t showing up yet. no worries, that’s easy to sort out. You should be well within range of Repeater CH-AG-Chestenberg :round_pushpin: 47.4240, 8.2026 from Lenzburg, so that’s a good first test once you’re up and running.

To get everything set up correctly, make sure to check out:

And flash the latest firmware using the MeshCore Flasher.

Feel free to ask if you get stuck, we’re happy to help!

Hi there, thanks! Yeah, I see it on the map as “Lenzburg-Tango-01” so I guess it should be ok no?

Hey fertech

Welcome in the swiss Meshcore Community!

I can see it on the Meshcore.ch Map but I think it’s because you added it manually. On my companion I haven’t received an advert from it yet.

Do you see activity on your companion in the Public or #Test Channel? I think if you set up everything correctly you should be able to see some messages

Did you set your settings like @stef mentioned?

Best regards
Marco

Hi there, yeah, I see several messages on public. And I see how many hops some people took to reach me. Still exploring and trying to understand several things
